The Bees had a huge dual meet victory last night against the Black Tigers of Cuyahoga Falls. Going into this match both teams needed a win to stay alive for the NOC Championship. This was a complete team victory. Both Medina and Cuyahoga falls won seven matches in the dual. The deciding factor was bonus points. Cuyahoga Falls earned 2 pins and 5 regular decisions. Medina earned 4 pins, a major decision, and three regular decisions. Our goal going into the match was to lose small and win big, our guys did a great job of accomplishing that goal. Winning for Medina by pin were Jeff Geiger, JJ Koenig, Matt Hogue, and James Duke. Zach Getto won his match by a major decision. Also winning matches for Medina were Ryan Hornack and Justin Hamer.
With this win the Bees are still in the hunt for another NOC title. The overall Championship is based on your dual meets and conference tournament, equally. With our division being very competitive, every team has a loss. Hudson and North Royalton enter the tournament with a 4-1 record. Medina and Stow enter the tournament with a 3-2 record. Cuyahoga Falls is 2-3, and Brunswick is 0-5. For Medina to claim a 4th consectutive title, we need to finish 1st in our division of the tournament with another team finishing a head of North Royalton and Hudson. With some good wrestiling and a little bit of luck, we can cap off our seniors last year with their 4th NOC River Division crown
